Where to eat in Las Vegas: What you need to know
Before choosing your favorite restaurants, it’s a good idea to consider a few practical factors that can affect both your budget and your experience:
- 💵 Price and location: the prices generally vary depending on the area of Las Vegas the restaurant is located and whether it's inside a famous hotel or not. We’ll go into more detail about this in the next section.
- 🤑Tips: in the United States, tipping at restaurants is mandatory, regardless of the service received or the quality of the food. It is customary to leave between 15% and 20% of the total bill at restaurants with table service. At more casual or fast-food establishments, tipping isn’t always required, but it is recommended.
- 🪙Taxes and fees: in the United States, taxes and fees are not included in the prices listed on restaurant menus, so the final price is always higher. Tax rates vary by state or county; in Las Vegas is 8.375%.
- 🕑Hours and reservations: while some restaurants in Las Vegas are open 24 hours a day, the vast majority are not, and many are only open for dinner. Additionally, at the most popular restaurants or those run by well-known chefs, it’s highly recommended to make a reservation in advance, especially on weekends.

Best places to eat in Las Vegas
The Strip
The Strip, one of the best places to stay in Las Vegas, is also the city's most popular area thanks to its concentration of themed hotels, casinos, and attractions.
The Strip is the most expensive area in Las Vegas and home to famous restaurants run by renowned chefs like Gordon Ramsay, which generally makes dining here more expensive (though there are also affordable options that we’ll highlight later). Generally speaking, restaurants located inside popular hotels tend to have higher prices.
Fremont Street (Downtown)
Downtown Las Vegas—and especially the area surrounding the Fremont Street Experience—generally offers more affordable and casual dining options, featuring independent and authentic eateries with that retro vibe we love so much.

Chinatown
Did you know that Las Vegas also has a Chinatown, just like San Francisco or New York? Its main thoroughfare is Spring Mountain Road, and while it’s not exactly a tourist district, it’s a lively area dedicated to Asian cuisine. If you have a car, it won’t take you more than 10 minutes to get there from the Strip!
Here you'll find a huge concentration of Asian restaurants, bakeries, and cafes, serving Japanese 🍣, Chinese 🥢, Korean 🍲, Vietnamese 🥙, and Thai 🍜 cuisine. The value for money is incredible, as they're relatively inexpensive, servin large and delicious portions.

Best Restaurants in Las Vegas: Top 10
With so many restaurants in Las Vegas, narrowing it down to just 10 is a challenge. Still, we’ve put together a diverse selection of 10 restaurants that are unique in their own way, ranging from fast food to more elaborate options, and located in different parts of Las Vegas.
1. Peppermill
- Specialty: classic American cuisine
- Who it's for: lovers of vintage style
- Address: 2985 Las Vegas Blvd S (north of the Strip)
- Budget: 💲💲
We tried Peppermill the first time we visited Las Vegas and loved it—both for its atmosphere and its food. This retro-style restaurant opened in 1972 and has a captivating vintage vibe, with its crystal chandeliers adorned with flamingos and its artificial cherry trees serving as decor. It’s a true cultural icon of Las Vegas!
It has very long hours, so you can go there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. That said, the portions are huge, so depending on what time you go, one meal can easily serve as two. It offers a dedicated menu only for breakfast, and also burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, and desserts.

2. Hearts Attack Grill
- Specialty: multi-layer burgers
- Who it's for: people who want to have a good time while they eat
- Address: 450 Fremont Street (Downtown)
- Budget: 💲
Hearts Attack is undoubtedly one of the most fun places to eat in Las Vegas. Located at the start of the Fremont Street Experience, it symbolizes the true spirit of Las Vegas. Entering here is like doing into a hospital: customers are patients who have to put on a surgical gown to eat, and the waitresses are dressed as nurses, with a very unhealthy menu that could give you a "heart attack at any moment." They might even punish you if you don’t finish your meal! 🤣
It's not a place known for its culinary excellence, and the menu is quite simple: burgers ranging from 1 to 8 patties, served with fries, onion rings, or cheese sticks.
Fun fact: if you weigh more than 350 pounds (159 kg), you can eat for free, and there’s a huge scale at the entrance that you can use even if you’re not planning to eat there.

3. Giordano's
- Specialty: deep-dish pizzas
- Who it's for: those looking for quantity in an informal atmosphere
- Address: 3619 Las Vegas Blvd S, Ste 200 (south of the Strip)
- Budget: 💲💲
A restaurant specializing in Chicago-style (deep-dish) pizzas, which are nothing like traditional Italian ones. These pizzas resemble a pie; the inside is filled with mozzarella, and the tomato sauce and other toppings are spread on top.
This is the perfect restaurant for sharing, and the more people you bring, the better the price per person, since it’s quite a challenge for just one or two people to finish a pizza of this size (though they do offer different sizes). The portions are very generous, making it a great choice if you’re looking for plenty of food without breaking the bank.

4. Hell's Kitchen
- Specialty: American cuisine with European influences
- Who it's for: fans of the Hell's Kitchen show
- Address: 3570 Las Vegas Blvd (center of the Strip)
- Budget: 💲💲💲
One of the best places to eat on Las Vegas Strip is Hell's Kitchen, a place that transports you to the set of Chef Gordon Ramsay's famous TV show. It's a sophisticated yet casual spot where, in addition to enjoying a great meal, you'll get to experience a bit of a show, as several chefs cook live, divided into two teams (red and blue).
The dishes you'll find here blend American and European cuisine, featuring classics like Beef Wellington (the most famous dish), as well as oysters, soups, salads, meat, fish, and a variety of desserts. We recommend making a reservation in advance, as this is a very popular restaurant.

5. Tacos El Gordo
- Specialty: Tijuana-style Mexican food
- Who it's for: people looking for affordable eating in Las Vegas
- Address: 3041 Las Vegas Blvd (north of the Strip) and 2560 W Sunset Rd (south of the Strip)
- Budget: 💲
Tacos El Gordo is one of the cheapest eats in Las Vegas, serving Mexican tacos with extended hours (they close in the early morning). It’s the perfect spot if you’re visiting the best places to see in Las Vegas and don’t want to spend too much time eating, since the food is served quickly and no reservations are required.
Although tacos are their specialty (with tacos al pastor being the star of the show), you can also find quesadillas, sopes, and mulitas. Here, each type of meat has its own line, which is important to know when you arrive so you don’t end up in the wrong place.

6. Le Thai
- Specialty: Thai food
- Who it's for: people looking for a great meal on Fremont Street
- Address: 523 Fremont Street (Downtown)
- Budget: 💲💲
If you love Thai food as much as we do, then you have to check out Le Thai, especially if you're visiting Downtown and Fremont Street. Here you'll find curries, pad thai, noodle soups, rice dishes, and other delicious specialties with just the right amount of spice. Authentic, flavorful, and affordable cuisine in one of the liveliest parts of the city!

7. Shang Artisan Noodle
- Specialty: Chinese food
- Who it's for: lovers of authentic Asian cuisine
- Address: 4983 W Flamingo Rd (Chinatown)
- Budget: 💲💲
This local gem in Chinatown is where you'll find the best noodles in Las Vegas—a treat for your taste buds at a great price! Here you can watch them make the noodles fresh right before your eyes, and choose from a variety of options, including soups, rice dishes, chow mein, and other specialties, all for under $15.
It's a more authentic, local experience that's off the beaten path, but it's definitely worth the trip, whether you go by rental car or taxi/Uber.

8. Mon Ami Gabi
- Specialty: French cuisine
- Who it's for: couples looking for a special restaurant
- Address: 3655 S Las Vegas Blvd South
- Budget: 💲💲💲
Mon Ami Gabi, located in Paris Las Vegas, is one of the best romantic restaurants in Las Vegas, perfect for couples, with a terrace offering great views of the Strip and the Bellagio. Here you can enjoy French bistro-style cuisine, and while it’s not cheap, it’s not as pricey as other restaurants of its kind.

9. In-N-Out Burger
- Specialty: burgers
- Who it's for: fans of simple burgers
- Address: 3545 Las Vegas Blvd, Suite L24 (on the LINQ Promenade), though there are others in the city
- Budget: 💲
In-N-Out Burger is an American classic and another great spot for a cheap eat on Las Vegas Strip. Located on the LINQ Promenade, it’s the perfect place if you’re looking for a simple, quick, and affordable meal right in the heart of the Strip.
Here you can find burgers for between $4 and $7, which is a steal in this city. There are even meal deals that include a burger, fries, and a drink for just $9–$12. That said, there are usually huge lines because it’s so popular, but since it’s fast food, the service is quick.

10. Best Friend
- Specialty: Korean-American fusion cuisine
- Who it's for: those looking for a great atmosphere and international cuisine
- Address: 3770 S Las Vegas Blvd (mid-Strip)
- Budget: 💲💲
To round out this selection of restaurants, Best Friend is a safe bet for both groups of friends and those looking for a laid-back atmosphere. Owned by renowned chef Roy Choy, its urban decor is eclectic and vibrant, evoking a Korean shop in Los Angeles, filled with merchandise and neon lights.
Here you can try specialties like Korean tacos, Korean barbecue, kimchi, and noodles—all with a cool street food twist.

🥗Best Buffets in Las Vegas (and Food Halls)
If you're one of those people who associate Las Vegas with massive, low-cost buffets, we should tell you that the landscape has changed quite a bit these days. For many years, buffets were one of the main attractions of Sin City, as the vast majority of hotels and casinos offered all-you-can-eat meals at relatively good prices.
However, especially in the wake of the pandemic, many buffets have closed, and those that remain open have cut back on quality while raising prices higher than before. After all, buffets were always a financial drain on hotels (a lot of food went to waste), and they kept them open to keep people inside the installations longer, with the goal of getting them to spend money at the casino or on other services.
These are the best buffets you can find in Las Vegas right now:
- The Bacchanal at Caesars Palace: from $85.
- The Buffet at Bellagio: starting at $45 (the last reviews aren't good).
- The Buffet at Wynn: starting at $60.
- A.Y.C.E. Buffet at Palms: starting at $43.
Currently, the trend is toward food halls—modern spaces within hotels that bring together various food stalls under one roof. Here, there’s no set fee; instead, you pay only for what you want to eat, with a variety of specialty cuisines available (Asian, Italian, Mexican, fast food, etc.). These are the best:
- Block 16 Urban: in The Cosmopolitan
- Famous Foods Street Eats: in Resorts World
- Proper Eats Food Hall: in ARIA
- Promenade Food Hall: in Fontainebleau

💰Best cheap restaurants in Las Vegas
Looking for affordable restaurants in Las Vegas? Although the city is generally expensive, there’s also a good selection of places where you can eat for less than $15 (in addition to the food halls mentioned in the previous section):
- In-N-Out Burger: simple burgers on the Strip starting at $4.
- Tacos El Gordo: Tijuana-style tacos on the Strip starting at $4.
- Dirt Dog: hot dogs on the Strip starting at $8.
- Shang Artisan Noodle: rice and noodles in Chinatown starting at $12.
- Ramen Sora: ramen in Chinatown starting at $12.
